The road test is about 25 to 30 minutes long, including instructions and feedback.

% i7 a, p8 M3 X· All Driver Examiners are licensed by Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation under the Driver Training, c! @* O3 {; ] J
and Driver Examination Regulation. They are monitored to ensure they provide high quality road
' n" e! D8 v2 N" r! ttests. They should be courteous and professional, keeping conversation at all times relevant to the
8 r4 p$ C% d* R, V* O. Y& mroad test.

2 d" O A8 _% W· You must have your Learner’s licence. If you have a temporary licence (non-photo)
; e4 g3 B- Y) A; }, Vthen you must also provide acceptable photo ID.
6 | `7 [1 ~+ X' J9 j% ^· Wear clothing that is practical for driving and comfort. It should be appropriate for the3 y& H* w6 M4 V
weather conditions (in case your vehicle breaks down and you have to wait or walk).; M7 _% |, ?4 f4 v
· Your vehicle must meet all legal requirements (good mechanical condition, valid' M J4 o; T, ?' s% a+ c
insurance and registration) and have enough fuel for at least one hour of driving.! Y4 s7 @0 ]5 s f
· Payment for the test must be made directly to the Examiner or Registry office.

assist in checking the signal and brake lights, horn, brakes, and steering. You will be asked to describe and
+ V4 X# s, Z. ~7 Xdemonstrate two of the instruments or controls inside the vehicle, such as the hazard lights and windshield- h: s/ z" A" a( J* f0 @5 _
wipers. The Examiner will provide information before you move the vehicle about the route and the instructions

· You will be given ample instruction in advance for each manoeuvre and activity.

# p3 H, M! Q, m; \You must not do anything that is considered unlawful, dangerous, or unsafe, (for example, speeding or not

The Examiner will give you a copy of the Driver Examination Checklist form. You will also be given a copy of the
`# o( I, G: j4 G5 i0 ITest Permit. This will indicate that you have passed. Take this permit, along with your learner’s licence, to any
G- ?$ J2 E% W: ]# f/ y4 ^Alberta Registry Agent to have your licence changed to a Class 5 Probationary Licence. There will be a fee for this! E3 M* N- [& v# C9 t) A
service.

The Examiner will give you a copy of the Driver Examination Checklist form. This form will indicate that you have
