3 ~. o: o# \$ K9 ?The Project: The Alberta Human Rights and Citizenship Commission, the Human Rights and Citizenship Branch of Alberta Culture and Community Spirit and the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (AUMA) are working in partnership to increase municipal capacity to become more welcoming and inclusive and to combat racism and discrimination. 0 X: [! s. {$ M5 e5 R$ a! W
$ S% o, U& e+ U0 a$ ] V. ?- X7 |Position Abstract - responsible for the management of the Welcoming & Inclusive Communities Project. Work undertaken as part of the Project may include activities such as: Facilitate networks of government departments, provincial organizations & municipalities involved in the issue; develop stronger metrics to assess what's working, what's not & improve as necessary.7 A1 B: Q( {' W6 k4 W4 M

In addition: develop/execute a communications plan; update AUMA Committees & Board of Directors, whose members can serve as champions of the initiative with other municipalities and can provide important critical feedback/guidance.

PLUS: liaise with all AUMA staff on related initiatives including Municipal Sustainability Planning, Citizen Engagement, Elected Officials Education and Training, Common Ground, and others; organize learning/networking events to promote becoming more welcoming/inclusive to the broader AUMA membership. 6 F: x1 r- a2 g9 K
* E* V0 g5 a' y8 P) K8 {+ A8 tQualifications: A related University Degree + related experience. Knowledge of municipal governments, community development principles and issues of inclusion will be an asset.
