    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
& O/ r9 ]3 w6 d    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group4 O# R3 A' }+ z7 }1 e6 h
    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators2 ~1 W! Z* h0 P& k8 ?
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations$ q0 W$ A  @$ s" P* o; ^
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
5 w: u! Z  L# L2 i! f    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
: i- Z( U' ]3 V* G+ |- ~. C    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth, F. Q6 e. S# O. l- k' B2 H
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program6 b8 q# {% ~" @$ ]; B- _
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment6 j/ j9 R6 v5 a! b
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports- f* ^, i& Q0 I
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
( o6 S9 ?7 n: ^. F+ e% x$ Z% U    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly& W& s# q8 u1 }( T" V
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
4 P  b( {: b" Q    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools* C, i* P; _7 Z

% C7 E% F% H4 g  hQualifications) G1 n7 g4 L; g3 Y/ h8 [: g

& f- }; O) [" C; ]/ E    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline: B! C3 [0 A0 s; x
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
6 U' D5 z3 M# r5 F    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
. X$ `" J, L4 }/ U* S+ q    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs. ]9 G: V3 n$ Y3 M1 G: F/ Y3 k
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community

    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills

0 y: {' x+ E( T9 b7 w' O    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills

    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
