今天(1月17日）与工会讨论的部分内容

今天我们有五位中国弟兄在IBEW424与工会主席JAMES WATSON, BUSINESS MANAGER Tim Brower 以及PUBLIC AFFAIR Barry  Salmon 就大家关心的问题进行了讨论。
& ?# V- Z6 g8 }Tim 对大家能参与工会的活动表示欢迎，若今后中国电工协会组织活动，工会可以出地方与费用。
) d, x; A/ L) \8 Z# C8 }对今年的工作的预期：　SHELL SCOTFORD 会在11,12月份达到用人高峰，到时会需要3000位左右的电工。到时会对外地电工提供LOA.

有关政府的面试, 他们也是刚刚得到消息。对我们的有关提问JAMES WATSON 表示他会与政府APPRENTICE BOARD 的有关官员联系，给我们一个答复
我们得到的消息是：
3 ?: W% Y, y( p' q7 ^* M! A现在是随机抽查，　主要考理论内容，合格的话会得到某种证明，不合格证书有可能被收走。
" J! Z4 v! |0 P% u! Z1 Q# ~我们会想办法获取更多的信息，到时会UPDATE.

工会正采取措施让更多合格的中国电工加入，具体措施为：
/ m+ K8 J1 |% u* Q% v+ T5 A7 ]不管您持有的是加拿大哪一个省的电工证，只要您能通过工会培训中心的四个小时的动手测试，您就可以加入工会。您先填一张申请表，工会会安排一个测试时间，您通过了再交钱并成为会员，考试内容是全方面的，接线，做桥架，马达，弯管等等。不局限于我上次发帖所告诉的内容。70分为通过的标准。

有关测试的设施，要等6到8周才能到位，因此此项措施也要等那时才有可能实行。
* D! q& S6 U. i+ m2 T( r对等待入会的PERMIT.会有一个审核委员会电话面试您。如果您通过了电话面试，您可以入工会，如果您没有通过电话面试，您将同样面对以上的动手测试。

1 N# |2 D3 f, ~/ Y3 [- h; [4 j4 n以上两项测试，望大家做好准备，如果我们的弟兄的通过率高，可以堵住很多人的嘴巴。
* ?+ @' S& A* ]+ @3 Z8 H我们也会尽可能给弟兄们以帮助。
$ }' R' s8 V! G; g" |1 z0 A- T. P! }大家对此有何建议与意见，可以回帖表达。我们会通过有关渠道向政府反映。

Is the 4 hours test for all electricians ( without apprenticeship in Canada), including electricians are already in the union, or just the electricians who are going to join the union?

right now the test is for those who want to apply for the Union without going throught apprentice path, those permit who fail the examining board interview and those who are refused by several company. If you pass, union will back you.

如果通不过考试委员会的面试，证书可能被收回。（考试委员会的态度是明确的）请问：连证书都没有了，工会还会对这些人继续提供实践考试而让他们留在工会吗？

如果没有政府颁发电工证书，工会不能按journeyman予以接收。
8 B9 \- M1 b/ e2 c: T如果您已经加入工会，或您已经是PERMIT.我们会商量办法解决。

I still do not understand very clearly.

% G( @' M/ s; `& pDoes the Union recognize the inter-provincial Construction/maintenane electrician license from other provinces like Ontario to join the Union, or they only recognize the licenses from Alberta to join the union now?

Shall anybody holding industrial license go to Alberta licensing place for re-assessment and go for Alberta license tests or all the electrician who have licenses other than Alberta to get an Alberta licenses?

工会表示，不论您是哪种 red seal 证书，也不论是加拿大那个省政府颁发的，只要能通过工会的实践考试（需要申请），都可以加入工会，先是permit,经过几个月工作后（通常为三个月），就可以参加宣誓并成为会员。

请教大侠！您的这段话是否可以理解为：外省的电工证可以不用去阿省政府相关部门作认证，可以直接去工会申请入会？

1，谢谢您对我的称呼，不过对不起我不是什么大侠，侠客行是我最喜欢的小说之一，这是我用它做网名的原因。
) e( A: l& _1 n5 I  O  m2，我的理解和您一样，可以直接去申请，只是要通过工会的考试，且需要再等约六个星期。

You are saying “与工会讨论”. Where is your voice? Did you guys ask any questions? What is you guys’ opinion on the government interview to Chinese electricians? Are there any other country electricians to be interviewed? Probably you guys just went there and listened. If you guys really want to represent all Chinese electricians, please tell us before you guys go. And collect some questions before you go. Do not just sit there and listen then tell people you guys “discussed”.

You guys better have some good ideas to help Chinese electricians. If you guys do not, you better give up you position. Not everybody is a “sitter and listener”. Not everybody wants to be tools of government and the union to scare all Chinese electricians.

Who are you five? Why there is no name?

You are saying “与工会讨论”. Where is your voice? Did you guys ask any questions? What is you guys’ opinion on the government interview to Chinese electricians? Are there any other country electricians to be interviewed? Probably you guys just went there and listened. If you guys really want to represent all Chinese electricians, please tell us before you guys go. And collect some questions before you go. Do not just sit there and listen then tell people you guys “discussed”.

I believe that the union door is always open to everybody, including all Chinese electricians. If there is any good ideas and suggestions, please go to the union meeting in IBEW yourself and give your voice there.
