A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.5 g Y) t9 a3 q* c! x" D
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and

• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)( _. j4 B* G; U6 }+ O( P
• Standard Child Care First Aid% ]$ ?/ Z3 l) d% q( r! M2 F Q4 i
• WHMIS6 v4 Q3 T w4 n& J+ ^) ~, e
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
% o1 [- }7 Q+ p T' T0 V4 b• Components to improve communication skills
9 ]# L, U c- L& ], Z5 r7 N) t2 x• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search8 ?! l# j7 n4 M& Y( G; z7 U
• Practicum Placements

! F6 v% Q. {- H5 `• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen/ x3 m+ L/ z5 s+ F; M6 O) m
of Canada
! p' k* B2 G# j1 d) C, q& k% p• have a Social Insurance Number
* F/ s4 {8 G2 w7 B• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check5 O/ }* r& r- D6 F- v
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent S5 o! K, R$ y4 \1 g, U& I2 M
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
2 o& z' u2 F) w/ j. Nthe following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:
2 ?+ C% I, O1 P7 G4 j3 Q# G. a• be unemployed or underemployed.
5 M' t0 `& z/ A( lThey CANNOT quit their job to take the course& f2 L% d, v J3 ]; b
• meet the financial eligibility criteria# z8 L: [8 ?$ j$ B. A
