1 ^2 E9 S# n1 T, V4 E8 @4 Z * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications/ W9 X8 n) }6 j6 L! {
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis, D' n4 b! A; k: S
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
# R8 f1 h! C& W; T * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
3 Q1 _! n$ m, Z1 Y * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies. t9 }. Y' U3 P& `* ^
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs
- T: ?+ S W! E1 M6 R: h * Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment

Qualifications
& Y- J9 ?7 D$ O' h! o( C
" K3 X( o4 B2 k0 |8 _6 s * Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
0 M) n. V" ~8 W4 Q * Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required
