FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 4 f0 v$ a; a5 e0 ~
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
+ a6 f& R, I3 ]support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
% w( C* O0 q7 u" KAlberta. 3 r E0 N% |! l" ]$ Y i; J
$ F7 r+ y$ v1 y1 A1 VFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
9 Z1 d, z% b6 g( i, Vemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 4 m, a( T! o1 K E+ J, o
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a & X5 |: @# l5 z
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 4 x0 A$ j# f4 @: i @' f" U
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern + b! b0 K, d& n9 S" }6 w! a$ d' p( m

+ g, I. [% ?$ E9 P, N6 y; j! N5 VFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
' s$ E( ?5 @! y, e; e8 Vwell as the script, magazine and book library. 9 O: V( @8 N% B

Duties:
" o# `: h. l1 ~. l5 K- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
" ~% @: j0 Q2 c% y7 a- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
9 K) `$ i) ~& w% g5 c T& |- Implement a catalogue template for future use
3 I6 x5 N, V1 `: K z/ \- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
5 U5 b* t) b7 x- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
) \9 V2 y6 X" f2 Rsecondary training, university preferred ' |4 M) ^/ V4 ~/ @' j
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
' @% O; o9 c" U- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
