Integrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
/ B2 {' u$ P# `, Tskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
$ L$ u6 i3 O4 F+ _) V0 _program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
0 e4 i9 M" R" W* Xwarehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
- {1 P. P; z. m# fservices and others.

: P- H. ~: u# N$ G% V- @- OCandidate Profile:
, L# z% t# z! R( F: O  b
Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
) B) B  J3 \& m*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
secondary education
*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
occupation
*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

Program Description:

/ X0 A. l9 s* ^$ S/ f# F8 _1 C                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
field trips
( Y8 O4 Z& y1 N" {1 x        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
$ x+ q5 @3 R8 n% Uhigh-demand occupations
! M& c; d( U1 S" U        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
, M+ w7 w. S7 C, L8 PInternet, etc.)
        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
0 \2 y* e4 t) u        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
: S& z( r8 q# \3 o! _" [6 B                        *        1 month work-experience placement

Class Schedule and Location:

        *        September 12, 2005 to January 31, 2006
        *        Monday to Friday

        *        All classes are held at The Path to Employment, 10211 - 97

Students may be eligible for tuition and living expenses from Student
