Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special 2 i" u: P% t% Y1 }( J" F5 s% l" Q
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: " n1 t: n7 X- t: M# r: y9 Y
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee X$ A0 u8 P) G) Q: G% p
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
$ H; g2 q$ B* Swith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
6 u% I% \* L# ]# m% L% d* }/ ~- f$ Jadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure 8 ?0 F" [" T% q5 I
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 3 N7 a9 Y1 k* n, u
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers

· Complete program administration, statistics and records

· Completion of 12th
2 H0 |' P5 c' ? Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation 5 F' ?5 d6 @" l+ H! V# n* `; Z$ y
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. / ]5 m, Y# y1 x2 e7 c7 n- I0 R
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
p' y6 G& |) Z3 h* ~" {experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
6 ?7 F1 W9 Y4 g% X) a· Experience working with and managing volunteers
; v \# @. ~: ?' r' d8 q5 g' y· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors 6 [# U$ @6 g9 t. W
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
