& Y6 J% [; G7 Y# h( n# _$ N" VThis fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
. {: ]) B$ f) VEligibility Criteria
, F9 ?1 S  q% _$ uAll potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
# F5 e7 Y9 Z* E# a3 ?' o4 j  r0 ~0 B•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
6 `8 V3 t( f! _3 d8 k•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
# c. c3 d' Y/ X, `& z+ Z•Be eligible to work in Canada
•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop
•Lack access to professional networks
# A$ S5 O2 a! p- d0 ?+ v•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning
Time Commitment
" e6 k3 ]$ e7 ~2 y5 {" jThe maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months.  This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
