We have an exciting opportunity for a Pay and Benefits Administrator to work within our Calgary office. e6 M7 M, d$ J7 K0 K+ b- F

Overview of Role:/ O) j y7 K7 z" t; U! x" ?
As a payroll and benefits administrator, you will be to collect, verify and process payroll information and determine pay and benefits entitlements for employees within our organization. As this position works with very sensitive information, tact and discretion is required.

• Maintain records of employee attendance, leave and overtime to calculate pay and benefit entitlements, in Canadian currency, using our computerized software package AccPac Advantage.
3 C) S7 v( ?4 t+ g5 M$ N2 [ g! r) h• Prepare and verify statements of earnings for employees, indicating gross and net salaries and deductions such as taxes, union dues, garnishees and insurance and pension plans.9 w s* I( a- z' p( A+ J& M# o$ B
• Prepare employee payments and benefit payments for EFT submission.
# B1 X4 g* K' f• Complete, verify and process forms and documentation for administration of benefits such as pension plans, leaves, share savings, employment and medical insurance.5 T9 @. F1 j/ y
• Prepare T4 statements and other statements (i.e. ROE).
+ E4 j% Z3 n! v/ ?• Provide information to employees on payroll matters, benefit plans and collective agreement provisions.( q$ e% q: K- H& \9 @" h
• Compile statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts.
, c4 z9 S0 e- s• Ensure remittances are calculated correctly and remitted in a timely fashion to CRA.+ s' U( j, V( V( v% @/ J
• Prepare and balance period-end reports (CPP, EI, Tax, Blue Cross, Alberta Blue Cross.5 T2 ^( D& ]! Q/ @
• Perform related clerical duties such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, faxing, photocopying and PDF’ing.( [) Q" w( O, J. B7 E+ a& o( c
• Preparing correctly formatted office documentation including letters and memos to internal and external parties.1 q1 d- G: D# {

• Completion of a college program which included payroll and benefit administration. This course will have provided the candidate with a Payroll Association Certification.& J, o# B! D" K; g- B
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Employment requirements

$ U7 P" P* r0 [9 K% w; i0 F• 1 – 3 years related work experience in both payroll and benefit administration, and! C! R7 u; L O) n, z8 l
• 1 – 3 years employed in a professional office environment.8 O- c# G. f+ @7 s+ C. N; {8 H. _
• Experience with AccPac Advantage is an asset, but Athabaskan will provide training for the right applicant.4 J3 N7 d5 z* w
• Experience in a unionized environment is an asset, but Athabaskan will provide training for the right applicant.
