Reporting to the Supervisor of Community Recreation Programs, the City Wide Recreation Programs Manager is responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of City Wide programs. The primary functions are:5 l) C) W1 ?& x; o' n
$ [. p# m& l, B: ?# b• Providing leadership and supervision for the centralized team responsible for the development and delivery of neighbourhood recreational programs and services. This involves directly supervising 13 full time program and clerical staff
, L1 |. F/ b. _; t• Managing the year round delivery of recreational programs and services including "green shack" playground programs, registered day camps, skateboard parks, leaders in training program, and more( y, L) U$ Y5 x6 R0 F) E! s \# Z
• Responsible for coordination of the annual planning process for year round and summer programs based on community needs, demographics, and evaluative feedback; j' `" P; s( K& H$ M9 d' C
• Approval of program expenditures related to payroll, program equipment, and staff training/recognition, and management of related cash handling procedures
, L* J4 t( q+ ~) U! P) x p• Responsible for new program development, programs trends analysis/research, and evaluation processes

Qualifications:7 j c$ y2 @3 S$ I* B$ e1 ~
9 {2 h7 P! U$ o+ |• Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Administration, Physical Education or related degree
# S% R8 L9 B: j$ ~2 z8 G+ H• A minimum of three years progressive experience in community recreation with demonstrated abilities in human resource management, program development, budget management and supervision
3 |9 s4 U: Q. V& Z+ d• Ability to work independently with demonstrated problem solving and analytical abilities
3 T9 h( U- Z$ @8 e• Excellent coordination, communication and interpersonal skills
$ t7 q7 _* d" @' l9 u• Effective group facilitation and presentation skills : K. U. V0 l8 X
• Ability to work under limited supervision

• Current Standard First Aid and CPR are required prior to commencing employment

• Applicants will be required to arrange their own transportation and where appropriate will be reimbursed in accordance with City of Edmonton policy. This may require the applicant to obtain business use auto insurance.

% y& N: o& g. l. k9 JHours of Work: 33.75 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of a variable hours of work program. Some evening and weekend work may be required occasionally.

Salary Range: 21M, Salary Grade: 019, $29.808 - $37.467 (Hourly), $2,012.04 - $2,529.02 (Bi-weekly). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
