Bridge Evaluation Specialist

% U2 Z6 J6 ?0 k3 j3 I5 MAlberta Infrastructure & Transportation , Red Deer - Transport Engineering is responsible for ensuring the optimum utilization of Alberta highways for users, while maintaining the integrity of the transportation network and safety of the traveling public. Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for conducting bridge evaluation, risk and safety analysis and infrastructure management in order to facilitate the movement of over-dimensional vehicles. You will develop new and innovative solutions, concepts and procedures with a view of being on the leading edge of technology. With your strong communication, leadership and negotiation skills, you will liaise with a number of stakeholders including trucking companies, industry associations, equipment manufacturers, local road authorities and department staff. A knowledge of the trucking industry would be an asset in this challenging position.

* D1 w3 s/ m6 \Qualifications: BSc in Civil Engineering with extensive related experience including bridge/highway design, construction and maintenance. Experience with computer programming, databases and the internet is also required. Additional education will be considered in lieu of some years of experience. Eligibility for membership in APEGGA is required. Salary: $69024 TO $91620 Closing Date: October 14, 2005.
