The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

Job Responsibilities:6 b B0 Y" U# w6 k, b# v

OPERATIONS
: f5 D) j. h; D& ]" T& l% j6 V• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.1 P) P2 G# m- y7 g0 n% L
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.

• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.9 n5 p. ]$ ~5 M; R/ a
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
4 V# C$ d6 y+ y2 a# Z5 j% c• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
* H( [* X Z2 x& _- S' G; z• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.* S. n, ^0 T& `( f9 B! W7 T( @( O
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
8 K6 a7 `, s; i- D• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required2 W0 [1 M/ x6 w; S5 \3 V4 u8 m

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING 7 O3 T3 Z; ?& \! l
• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
3 r5 k4 t0 K6 B& I/ j* u% y J• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up; s$ e7 F6 u" z7 q9 y

ADMINISTRATION
! k6 k7 c" r' @& b1 {• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position7 R b% E4 Y1 l7 D8 t
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
( q+ X7 z: I5 _. G9 U4 {• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
S6 ?2 _; [8 ^4 l7 Z; B( |• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department) b6 i" I5 B4 ?: @# v0 G1 s2 s( m2 N
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required 8 ?: v9 y( V, h
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

1 e7 i" S. {/ b( k• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
; l, L: Z+ \0 |8 _• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers0 f- W9 f$ J* T1 d. R7 Q
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
; h3 U" \0 J1 @1 u, R• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
8 N* e8 k @7 M/ o- Y* C5 D• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
& }; C$ N3 g5 }$ }• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability

• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects 8 a. t* U% }3 ]
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality2 F" H U: ]" b/ U7 z
• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial 5 i9 }( J7 I0 l7 [$ w
