Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
1 v- L# r& t3 `4 D! \ Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.7 Q8 ^1 J* w: i0 X8 h1 B4 b C7 d7 x
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.3 i$ |# U7 w' ^ U- T& |7 i8 C
 Completing required paperwork.
# ^# @+ F! h; o# s Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
& T1 P2 O+ g# F2 n Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
( H; w' _! ]5 U4 t! O8 @7 P: F8 } Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
& i4 Y; [0 g7 { Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.. T+ |9 B$ p/ `% s) P
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.

 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

9 s) C- i I: y: W4 Z. z! X Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
. i B8 H) ]2 }! v$ q Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.. z. p+ X9 U# Z, x
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
' \4 z8 b2 M; w% T- \& A0 _" { Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.2 [, H% ]+ A. a3 L
 Knowledge of community resources.$ S+ ]* ]: d9 M& `
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.$ G. @) U3 {2 l7 P( h( M
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
