Key Responsibilities & Duties:
' i8 L/ Q# x7 `) U% n* C, c" U3 S
- _. G% w) G( t% ] Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
$ Y! r" U, s+ _" l Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
8 j& z) I# w' A& Q Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
% y& Q0 w9 L4 z4 e Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
7 z. z4 n& Z% ]# |  U/ Z+ ]' b Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
- P4 z* d! j, O, J2 i Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
1 v/ O% p' [6 g, M0 O' U Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:
$ R# g+ Q- s" n3 n
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
5 U4 z, y) A& E. h  u6 @& l Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
There is a 3-month probationary period.
