 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
7 [/ \* j- ~7 O, ~  T Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
+ ?. X  z5 m7 P) j, m  I0 t Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
+ I4 U( n/ }) m( I Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

/ _/ A, A% `3 f- h2 S* J0 z9 j- G Social work degree or diploma
2 h( j& z% `1 ] Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
7 O  E: S- p7 `/ H# }, u Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
* T$ _/ F8 y# }( E Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
4 @9 I6 k; `( C7 s' x' K1 ? Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
& x8 U4 J+ ^. i8 ` Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
