Employment Developer

Resource Room Advisor/Resume Writer
$ n/ I1 ]; U( n Provide ongoing positive encouragement and support to clients accessing the Resource Centre.4 W! e- q4 f8 @
 Continuously interact with all clients in the Resource Area to ensure that their job search requirements are being met.
! @6 R, L0 w2 D/ G Provide information regarding job search strategies and labour market information.5 p' b1 f# }; k  h2 x" \5 a4 C  V
 Assist clients with resume and cover letter development, effective job search techniques, interview skills, and accessing the hidden job market after workshop completion.( n: l+ `4 D0 n) w5 o( ~$ b: ~
 Maintain all resources in the Resource Room insuring that they are current and relevant.+ A8 B9 ~5 X0 z4 U8 d
 Update and maintain job boards.

 Engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with newcomers, treating them with dignity and in line with the values of the Bredin Institute.

5 u! ^: G- W0 @ Promote Bredin Institute’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.
( o6 G" q, L+ S Encourage independence and self determination in newcomers* A8 n; @' f0 c0 I) k/ L8 W
 Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.
; ?8 S4 Z3 S4 n$ n" \ Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.
6 T# b( W# c' M% F Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.
4 u8 O( i7 d" o' m4 E Ensure that newcomers know and understand their entitlements.5 Q8 s! F0 u. r
 Keep up-to-date all other administrative tasks as directed by the Program Co-ordinator.

 Responsible for intake, orientation and completion of workability assessments.

9 f  r8 {- q7 V& {5 N0 x Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.& s! x( u- a9 f' o) Z+ r
 Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client./ b" m( |+ }5 U& D) E" |/ d% o
 Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.

 Ensure that participants have access to the required supports to successfully complete their Service Plan# r, D( Q' n$ }+ D
 Assist clients in maintaining a job or in identifying barriers/issues that keep clients from obtaining/maintaining employment- e* M2 }9 w5 }8 [( I
 Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada
( A! S5 `  y" [+ b. `7 e& a Develop and maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for participants
3 w5 z$ J) T( j: n Complete participant reviews with the participants
5 [0 `0 w) Z) F  R  C Complete 90 and 180 day follow up with client after training completion
! Z1 I9 r# {/ D% ^- _3 A7 o Perform other duties as assigned by manager/coordinator
