* @, a% t% ]% [5 s9 i+ q, D# PThe key responsibilities of this role is to review and ensure effectiveness of day-to-day human resources functions, includes, but are not limited, to:! X5 D! [# g4 D: R* \8 M1 Z
1. Recruitment, Selection and Orientation1 F1 R# x, K1 Q2 ^# [6 j
• Provide guidance and support for recruitment, sourcing, job postings, screening, interviews, reference checks, and selection practices, as well as job offers
1 y5 A/ T1 x9 g% M$ T• Develop, administer and evaluate applicant tests
5 @/ c0 }3 P' ~# t• Ensure job descriptions are kept current
% g5 O& g9 d" G! L- D( y$ B• Manage the new employee orientation and orientation programs
8 h; d; \/ H' L' |) T• Support the administration of probation evaluations for all employees k9 R; e) e. v- C& T( a4 T

• Provide recommendations for policies and procedures; when identified as a priority and delegated by the General Manager, develop the necessary documentation and seek approval

• Advise all employees, especially Team Leads and Managers, on interpretation and administration of policies, procedures, programs and legislative compliance

3. Performance Management Support
$ ^- X; O, z/ \3 f. s; S7 U• Monitor attendance/absenteeism and assist with the administration of performance management program( ?$ f1 A( a8 j+ p# |$ r
• Support Team Leads and Managers in the administration of discipline and employee coaching( l, o8 x' C# c. J+ w
• Provide resolutions to employee relation issues (e.g. employee complaints and harassment allegations)" z! r0 [9 E" V* i: p3 \4 X
• Conduct exit interviews and provide management with analysis and recommendations
& [, I7 T9 S" }+ r• Member of, and responsible for, the Rewards and Recognition Committee

4. Human Resource Information Gathering! N8 N `0 d. n1 |9 ~ s
• Maintain accurate records and compile statistical reports relating to personnel data – e.g. hires, absenteeism rates, performance appraisals' y4 U2 E. M$ J
• Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices

• Provide input and support to the management team on employee relations issues

• Administer and record employee rewards, recognition and incentive programs

7. Payroll and Benefits( r, U1 E) R I# a; b9 Y: F2 f
• Oversee payroll administration and maintain relationship with payroll provider
# d/ \4 c! f2 N4 u• Administer and educate employees of benefits and maintain a sustainable relationship with insurance providers7 k. {, A/ x9 A( n2 r5 i5 W' T
• Manage claims for short-term and long-term disability, and ensure effective return-to-work programs

• Be a member of the Safety Committee

3 r- X$ Y' R0 g" TQualifications & Expertise
' ?4 r6 i7 F v( J! | Minimum 5 years of experience as an HR generalist (series of progressive specialist roles will also be considered) O/ L# `' J' ^" l
 Minimum 2-year diploma, preferably in human resources or business administration specializing in HR, or related area of study (equivalencies will be considered). h# M, J& |% o" q+ z! h# g2 x! q
 A CHRP designation is an asset" W& R7 ]3 e" `; D6 l
 Experience in the health care industry is an asset9 w7 ]3 A) P! K9 H0 E# I
 Experience managing change is preferred
& P9 R2 e$ N! k# r1 V0 \ Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook" {6 O$ }+ B0 ], W0 F0 F
