The Girls’ Programs Coordinator will coordinate the GirlSpace program and collaborate to plan the Power of Being a Girl conference. This individual will be building relationships within the community and working closely with YWCA volunteers and staff to ensure the program and conference are successful in meeting the participants’ needs. In addition, the Coordinator may also be involved in the development of new programs.1 l. a9 B# a, A+ L
& L( Z$ y' s5 gThis is a permanent position working an average of 20 hours/week where hours may vary during peak times of the GirlSpace program and to plan the conference. Flexible work hours are required to attend meetings in the evenings.

Job Responsibilities:8 {( x; ]- X% Q& q
• Present and promote program to schools, and at volunteer fairs, workshops, and conferences, and to potential volunteer mentors at post secondary institutions
! t" u8 k8 F5 q, o1 l4 Z O• Assist with recruiting and interviewing of volunteer mentor applicants q7 y# c; m! X" b; m1 r
• Orientate, train, and supervise volunteer mentors/ g/ x+ B. F% N9 d* a$ j
• Research and compile community resources through internet searches and conducting cold calls# j3 V+ S0 T5 ?/ Q4 c# u* L3 S
• Compile written materials as required ; ^3 I, ]* s" p/ V B/ [& F7 o
• Produce a written reports within one month after completion of each program or conference, a6 {( z7 d; |* N
• Monitor and track expenditures for budgeting purposes1 Y; ~# A/ ^3 Q! u& C
• Evaluate program and conference to ensure effectiveness and revise as necessary* `2 c j5 |# K
• Pick up and deliver supplies as required for program and conference1 S; L3 K0 v" s$ f
• Liaise with volunteer mentors, post secondary institutions, program participants and community agencies. b x7 F; x2 _+ u
• Collaborate with the Counselling Centre Manager and Volunteer Services Coordinator
O$ c6 _1 ], }( }• Organize program and event logistics including booking speakers and venues, arranging catering, coordinating registration, and ensuring the event runs smoothly

• Minimum one year experience in project coordination
$ y6 V7 g) B8 u0 h• Post secondary education in Social Work, Psychology, or Education; equivalent experience will be considered, d/ h% u- b& f0 c; T
• Experience working and developing girls’ focused programs- ~3 J0 A( E9 l: ? t0 q
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills) R! X: [) M4 [' a: n
• Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
