I bought two bags of seed from Dunvegan garden which is around 2 bucks each, roughly 250 seeds per bag.  I put them into the peat green house kit from Canadian tire ( 8 something bucks each, 50 peats per kit).  So, 5 seeds per peat, 250 seeds per kit, two kits that give you 100 plants assuming 1 in every 5 will germinate. It actually has better chance.  Total cost is about 20 bucks.
Here is how it goes so far, I soaked the seed in warm water for 24 hours and  planted them into the green hous kits about 8 days ago.  97 out of 100 of the peats have little green sprouts coming out, most of them have more than one sprouts.  Not bad for 20 bucks, enh?
Well the instruction said you have to harden them ( move them out during the day and take back in at night) before you can plant them outside,  so I am sure some of them will die during hardening. You still have a good chance of success.
6 c. f3 n+ o7 ]- S' x7 l! \/ Q! ~I believe this is a very good way to go. The little chives you get from store are not hardened, so, some of them will die and 3 bucks each is ridiculously expensive.
+ q& N9 F  t3 h$ Y8 Lif you want to buy the little ones from store, make sure they are garlic chive, one way to tell is to roll the leaf gently between your thumb and forefinger, if you fell a little ridge along the leaf,  it is  garlic chive, if not, do not buy, it is regular chive.
Well, I am still in the process of babying my chives, will let you know how it goes.

太复杂了，有没有直接撒一把，一个月以后就可以源源不断的吃上韭菜的那种？
