9 [5 w* Y E' fResponsibilities and Tasks4 j6 U% I l1 \
`* u; f7 l2 W8 B( I- G- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment
1 w, f, ^3 n# J2 u- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements s) j3 n. G( G Q
- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines7 K# R8 m" Y' S' s# |
- Select type and size of pipe required" B- e& N4 F# T" @
- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
2 B( l5 w3 h: h3 E4 h; \. i- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system: H6 x8 b y- E9 [, y8 K
- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
$ D! f% B2 i0 J- Test system for leaks using testing equipment
- A( P1 g; T; D8 ]3 b9 X* G- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system5 X8 G& y, v4 P* m
- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system# J. R0 c" ]/ p0 }& w: l. @
- Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program5 L! q: n7 z+ q0 a0 _5 f
- Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

- Completion of secondary school
! w4 G* `; f: ]$ p- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
5 V, D8 N0 u* x4 p0 P- B" B3 i3 u- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
! X4 H* `! ^5 J7 c, g+ V! K2 j( L- h- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence( _) ]& @0 s' h4 Q* L* Z
- Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset

- Valid drivers’ license is an asset
