Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Albert Human Services, the Community Development Worker will build and maintain relationships and collaborations with ethno-cultural communities.

Key Responsibilities:% T& m ?) d' _5 a9 C( V+ F

-Liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community0 i7 A* t1 B6 B8 w! E- I( ^
-Plan and coordinate workshops, seminars, and activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services* d* ~2 l- ]7 @! n0 [
-Fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services+ A" z6 W) a5 Z/ i0 l ]' R
-Develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies8 x8 n5 ]/ [+ Y6 R" P
-Promote membership, update and maintain members data; c# O7 J3 z0 n. s9 G6 C9 S
-Coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members; w: [$ L7 ?3 C& A% A8 F4 Q' ~
-Assist Annual Report for Annual General Meeting
% h! d" o+ D" |+ q9 k, p-Work together with outreach worker to organize Newcomer’s club Christmas party; and volunteer coordinator on volunteer orientation, help out front counter business, and involve centre’s fundraising event such as Walk & Run etc… . R$ k0 m$ A. Q& L2 y4 K
-Participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities

-Perform other duties as assigned

-Diploma/Degree in social sciences, social work or other human services field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from an accredited institution.
K6 v/ e" B. u; V) N-Good oral and written Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) and English skills. Being able to communicate effectively in Chinese to provide linguistically appropriate services.
