We hire a professional interior designer to select our kitchen cabinets.  She wouldn't suggest painted maple because of the painted texture, it won't look good.  
Maple looks the best with stain but not paint.
0 U& Y6 \# @  P* \, n5 _8 JShe suggested to go with MDF if we really want white color, but not thermofoil  Thermofoil is very popular now but some home buyers don't like it and it slightly decreases the value of the house.
