Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Immigration, Refugees, Citizenship Canada (IRCC) (formerly Citizenship and Immigration Canada), and Alberta Government - Jobs, Skills, Training and Labour Ministry, the Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the overall management, recruitment, scheduling and recognition of volunteers needed by the Centre, different program activities, and special events. This position also helps to build and enhance volunteerism, to provide education to general public to enable them to develop positive attitudes towards newcomers in their communities and workplace. This position reports to the Program Manager. 7 V+ P9 t" C1 M `* ^" c' O

' J- _8 X5 c! h% i• Determine organizational needs that volunteers could fill $ e. w' B! O! f/ u( ?- Z: ] |5 o6 ?
• Create and implement marketing strategies for volunteer recruitment 6 A0 d9 J' V- ~
• Research, develop and lead volunteer programs and identify opportunities for volunteer engagement $ r3 [) f2 O0 F& d- O
• Develop and update the Volunteer Manual and deliver orientation programs for volunteers. 3 m- x9 g% v% T& o. v$ c: u
• Recruit interview, train, and schedule volunteers 0 H* J8 Q" p3 J
• Supervise volunteers or provide support for other staff who supervises volunteers
! y2 `; H- A2 r/ A$ Y7 y• Plan and coordinate volunteer recognition and appreciation events and activities
+ Z" x& g5 U7 N* s5 F• Conduct evaluation for volunteer programs and with individual volunteer, and to provide a summary report of the evaluation results

• Manage volunteer files and maintain volunteer database , V2 K. z- R, O" h% u
• Build and enhance volunteerism in communities + C" m' A! A3 F, K' g& u9 [: k
• Provide education to the general public to enable them to develop positive attitudes towards newcomers in their communities and workplace

1 E3 k: t( q4 t1 cQualifications:& t& ?: a! _: x* S: {# @6 [' g
- Degree/diploma in social sciences, social work or other human services field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from an accredited institution.& F# v8 L$ [; T9 b% L) h
- 2-4 years of experience in volunteer management or human resources is an asset.
( n9 V" t9 k8 P# X- AAISA accreditation is an asset.- G) {# }& S5 B( y$ W
- Good oral and written English skills and have a working proficiency of both Mandarin and Cantonese.; G# L0 k# y4 j* p( y+ @
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong keyboard skills- E$ O2 \8 I& `
- Effective communication skills with ability to work with diverse groups and cultures 4 q: k4 O# z! i& w' Y( i* |
- Proficient in interviewing, training, presentation, and coordinating skills

- Valid driver license
