The City is seeking a highly motivated team player to join the Human Resources Branch.  As a Human Resource Research Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work with experienced human resource and management staff on a variety of initiatives.  Your interest, education and attention to detail in the human resource field will be important as you participate in research projects that deal with areas of recruitment.  

The Human Resources Branch values open communication, sound leadership, teamwork, collaboration, diversity and equity.  Your ability to interact with all levels of staff, from front line employees to senior management, will be a great asset as you  participate in the implementation of human reource initiatives for the City of Edmonton.

; w2 w7 z4 Z: }/ }+ U•        Research and provide data to support best practice recommendations in the areas of search, recruitment and selection;
$ I0 Z7 P7 R( J! P4 I' J& A•        Provide support to senior HR professionals;
•        Report sensitive and confidential information to senior management; and
7 C/ q6 X! x; v. L•        Identify, analyze and recommend a range of HR issues for the City of Edmonton.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
•        International 4 year degree – HR major/related field
•        3 - 5 years progressively responsible HR experience
. N! B, I0 N7 j! g1 t0 c) c•        Working knowledge of best practices in search, recruitment and selection
' E+ N5 s+ s1 M  p5 `1 [* D; @+ |, [•        Ability to foster productive relationships within diverse environments
' t) z" K) ~4 ~' A' s4 F6 U•        Proven commitment to buliding and maintaining an inclusive workforce
, v! f* x1 `' L. m: K) o•        Consulting and project management skills with a customer service background
•        Effective interpersonal, communication and presentation skills (Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment 7’s)
•        Proficient in PC applications, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access;
& w6 x4 o/ h: k9 m3 m& ?4 U' v•        Experience in web based research

1 ^. |2 n2 D: Z+ K1 q8 [HOURS OF WORK:  36.9  hours per week, Monday – Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of a variable hours of work program.

SALARY RANGE:
5 V$ V3 V: V7 t; Y) Q4 A- N/ F$1,350.15 - $1,891.11 (Bi-Weekly), $35,239 - $49,358 (Annually).
