General Description
, |8 M' ~3 q* A" ?The Peace Talks Project is a unique combination of community partnerships and agencies responding to the issues of bullying within the community. The Peace Talks (PT) Learning Team[1] have partnered with Alberta Conflict Transformation Society (ACTS)[2] to develop the Peace Talks Coordinator position. The Coordinator identifies and addresses gaps and develops interventions for those affected by bullying within designated schools.

Qualifications:( B" L7 D# r- r1 }
Diploma/Degree in Child and Youth Care/Human Services/Community Development or equivalent education/experience. Knowledge of the school system, connections within the helping community, awareness of family violence and bullying behavior are required. The ability to network, engage with youth, develop the program and take initiative is an asset. / ^' X5 D9 `& ?$ l" F: x' R& y" }" e

The Peace Talks Coordinator would address bullying on all levels within the school culture commencing with the students. They will engage with individual schools and or school clusters to develop bullying prevention and intervention strategies. A focus would be in dealing with areas where there are gaps within the school system or community. The project coordinator will oversee the project work in schools and with clusters groups reporting to the Learning Team. ' ?9 J4 ^& u" [. ^- n% H3 X; U( U; `

Develop (and deliver) lesson plans for presentations and programs which may include:
