Position: Driver, Furniture Donation & Moving Program, FVPC / Context: One of the programs delivered through the EJHS - Family Violence Prevention Centre is the Furniture Donation & Moving Program (FDMP). This program partners with Alberta Job Corps and assists people leaving abusive relationships with free donated furniture/non-emergent moving services. * j2 y" W8 ?7 L) P8 c3 x
2 G6 G/ R1 o' Y: c$ z' tThe Driver is responsible for delivering furniture, picking up donations, moving individuals. The Driver also supervise the swampers provided by Alberta Job Corp who are work trainees.2 B8 D+ U" z& P: ?% O, m" A P/ p' ]
2 B* |( \8 P5 k) n [; m2 U- dQualifications/Skills Required: Valid Class 5 Operators license + Drivers Abstract (no convictions, less than 3 demerit points); 3 years driving experience; previous supervision experience an asset; Criminal & Child Welfare Record Check; able to follow direction (both written/spoken) but work independently; must be reliable & dependable with a proven ability to follow through on commitments; understanding/sensitivity of family violence a definite asset.- _* j# @# c" M' p

Responsibilities/Tasks: Drive truck & complete deliveries, moves, donation pick-ups as directed by the program administrator; liaise with FDMP Client Donor Liaison Worker & Alberta Job Corp regarding general operations and crew supervision; supervise swampers; complete and sign vehicle inspection form daily; follow local, municipal and highway safety regulations and traffic laws; relate in a professional and positive manner with donors and clients.
