A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care./ s/ j. h4 O8 S( m! K
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and' M' \5 \9 p2 V+ E w8 [/ N
knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.: d# E' h' K4 d& I
The program includes the following elements:
- I, ~: E. k, \, }• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)+ j! n( N, y @
• Standard Child Care First Aid
" I+ ?6 a7 S6 t4 [) E• WHMIS$ D2 e0 }( Y2 O+ l$ ~5 @
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
: Y( P+ L, ~# L J) E3 o4 D0 N! _• Components to improve communication skills4 X+ D, v# O* \3 {- Y$ }: I- \
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

2 ^0 h {1 z5 hEligibility Criteria/ }0 X$ k- P5 o, K" `
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
6 T7 u ~! A6 ^ e ]of Canada" a/ j8 w0 {8 Q3 ~2 V- q# n+ R
• have a Social Insurance Number
) M5 G' J* t) `- \5 F• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
/ a3 u0 Y/ M# ?; b0 D( X• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent7 A7 S: w. W5 q) e5 ]# L
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time8 G* R P4 b3 ^# V$ J1 J- d
program4 F$ V: r6 p8 u4 C7 H
Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet W( _- z% y1 I. D' S: u4 T
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:* f/ J. W2 H1 t9 Q, c; Y
• be unemployed or underemployed.

• meet the financial eligibility criteria$ C+ ?& Q4 B J6 I8 f; r
