: x9 h4 D5 z9 X% C4 j) U1 JKey Competencies: the Program Counsellor is responsible for working as part of the care team, working directly with participants of SACRED's Eating Disorder Recovery Day Program, as well as with Drop In and Meal Support participants.

Responsibilities - providing guidance/emotional support to participants as they journey to find recovery & working through the 12 steps including; facilitating pre/post meal groups & other solution-focused sessions; assisting participants to develop a wide range of life skills; eating meals as served with participants.2 b1 A1 P4 B) N- F* A5 D
% c/ M2 ]2 m% h4 ~6 DPLUS: transporting and attending meetings/other activities with participants; occasionally working with partners or families of participants; keeping records, recording and reporting incidents; following up with past participants; public presentations and maintaining personal recovery.# Y1 }& X/ c; J+ b

Qualifications: Diploma or degree in a related (human services); field Addictions knowledge is an asset; Standard First Aid, CPR and Suicide Intervention (training required within 3 months of hiring).

7 y% M. k' l& z# q) SWork Experience: minimum 2 years experience working in a helping profession; experience working with vulnerable populations, individuals with eating disorders or other addictions an asset. 8 e( D" B! X0 I7 Q; S& H
! @; [5 r) f3 B# W& }Other Assets: personal understanding of addictions, 12-step program and recovery experience/maintenance is an asset; good physical health/stamina, emotional maturity & a balanced, healthy lifestyle; good problem-solving skills.% \& W* @1 {9 T) X# g# g
9 q5 n. _' l4 c ?4 d9 mIn addition: ability to remain composed when faced with unexpected problems & stressful situations; tolerance for beliefs & values that not your own; interest in taking a multidisciplinary, cultural, holistic approach; creative ability to develop new programs or ways of doing things.
