2 M) t- [  r% W- ]* hIntegrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
skills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
5 ]; h. i" |/ ?warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
4 j; m3 h% d4 V: }. T, @* Jservices and others.

Candidate Profile:
4 p1 H, ]* z) h+ N
4 V4 P- z" g: u, s0 _( t; Y6 ]# l" |6 bCandidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
$ z, F; b8 b8 ncitizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
  C* ]5 X; \/ D5 Q0 R/ Y6 i*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
+ h' @6 ^3 Y) L, u6 \' j1 U6 E' [secondary education
1 I/ i5 d$ v! _6 ^*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
* T  M2 i. {* q" Coccupation
*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

* Q0 o& u1 _/ V- w5 V% O* qProgram Description:

                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
2 G# L' ~0 f8 L1 H0 n8 vfield trips
        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
high-demand occupations
        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Internet, etc.)
6 O8 `! v9 c, @' q/ ]& V, U8 L        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
* z- w7 T- H2 z        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
& M) q2 V8 `7 G- h        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling

Class Schedule and Location:

        *        September 12, 2005 to January 31, 2006
        *        Monday to Friday
2 F/ C$ v; \+ u+ Y% x2 L, K        *        9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (tentative)
        *        All classes are held at The Path to Employment, 10211 - 97

Funding:

Finance.
