Calgary-area woman becomes 5th Albertan to die from swine flu virus

Alberta Health says the latest person to die is a woman from the Calgary area who had underlying medical conditions. q5 ^4 t! Z* D( A$ L6 a
( e" j( x& j# V" s6 VDr. Gerry Predy, the province's senior officer of medical health, says the victim was admitted to hospital in early July and died about three weeks later.7 {' [- v% y0 {, L: z; n$ G; V

This is the second swine-flu related death in the Calgary region.

All five people to die so far in Alberta have been women, but Predy says he doesn't believe there is a propensity for the virus to cause illness in females.
