Position: Self Advocacy & Leadership Training Coordinator / Hours of work: negotiable within 8:30 – 4:30 Monday to Friday / Salary: commensurate with experience. CMHA-ER promotes mental health/recovery and provides direct service to people living with severe & persistent mental illness. CMHA-ER provides direct support for children, youth and adults. Programs include suicide prevention & intervention; mental health first aid training; advocacy; leadership training, psycho-social education programs; social and recreational programs; rehabilitation programs; family support groups and affordable housing. . The Position: CMHA-ER has a vacancy on the MAP team and is recruiting a qualified person to fill a permanent 0.7 FTE Self Advocacy and Leadership Training (SALT) Coordinator position. The SALT Coordinator is responsible for delivering advocacy based skill building workshops that incorporate adult learning principles and are founded on the values of mental illness recovery.

The successful candidate will have a background in human services and will possess many talents and skills including: strong psycho-education group leadership experience with a client centred focus; program development skills; experience with program evaluation and reporting; a working knowledge of mental illness along with an understanding of mental health and wellbeing. Relevant qualifications include a background in social work or psychology.
