The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

7 ?6 N- N r$ YOPERATIONS
( F2 ~. A; n# O9 Y( h ?, z2 z% U# k, }• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
' v. _( ]* E$ W& H• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.; g8 [' V. f: u+ Y
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
5 ~; |( p- f6 V( M7 B! O4 V0 P• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
( b$ ?' q, b8 s5 _( `) ^1 g• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.& A6 f* h; j/ `( A% a& p0 @
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
+ K$ C* m. D# o8 u, |2 d3 R" D• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
5 f- Z R' ^6 u• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities: o g8 \- F/ s3 V5 a5 f, @
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required) m, c& W& B0 ^ r! j! \

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING + `8 y3 l( V" q) {0 s$ m# ]
• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
* Z" K- v8 |" J% p1 D Q• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up, q% \! [" \/ A; Y5 S2 e, V
/ u4 a; s% P! L8 W1 tADMINISTRATION
& P3 P" Q% r) @- k• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position5 t/ O' u' E, i) V. n' N- d
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation; u' Q* L6 j6 U" a
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate% `: R& S$ D- t" v2 C5 Y
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
; n2 A _% y+ h O9 _8 V• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
+ K( R9 o8 N( t- g B5 q" P6 p' J• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

FINANCE
, Z6 P' k2 q7 O, F• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances2 f; B( j, O/ n9 r' G- t1 e5 P0 A3 s/ c
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

" [7 t: z! a( B. ?+ p0 u; G0 rINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
' d8 X* m+ \/ K x9 u• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers' B7 k% d( X+ E4 L% Y
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)/ A9 C- @+ j/ m4 l3 ]
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate * n' K& f6 t5 j
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

Qualifications:) t1 d( M g! [0 L% q$ C0 \7 w- ~: Z7 q
4 |8 F9 r4 T; N. @* ?" o% c• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
/ K( d0 G6 p1 i6 r! ]- O• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability3 j- h# W4 [7 D$ b9 [# _5 q
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
+ @6 |2 M' T$ u• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
: h: k; ?3 N- y1 j• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
# j) l) C6 ~2 k. [• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects 0 R& y2 e4 `( ~: r4 {& b/ H
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality9 x0 I1 E% X% p/ Y% n1 X- a
• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial 8 D' A9 |7 {$ A+ }( H
