Old books can be still useful. Although it changes different version, the most content is not changed too much. So you can use the old one, however, when you do the homework, you'd better borrow your classmate's books and fix the page number, then everything is fine. Indeed, when you begin the new semester, just focus on lecture and notes, you do not have more time to read the book by yourself. PLease be prepared.
