Financial Literacy Trainer / Coordinator

SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. ) C2 f' M, b& \( \/ z6 |( u5 f
SEDI is staffed to:
8 y ^/ V4 e z' z$ G6 e• conduct socio-economic market and policy research , w7 E. ~/ z; R- t
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
6 u& c# }1 \) C' `( m& G9 m' B* F• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
% h# v& t3 G& g/ |8 R• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs $ I* Y' m( F- s7 E3 S( M6 U
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits . q/ D- z% Y l4 F8 g A
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses " S; u9 k# O# h* I' u! f8 g6 L
• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada
5 f6 P: i1 _; N+ ^4 V: UPrimary Responsibilities and Activities:
$ j' I, p$ R$ r$ I• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada 5 [+ i& V7 k; y& w0 `7 @8 [
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) ( {( c2 O6 t2 y3 i+ N( n, w6 }& Z
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
6 R; ^4 o, d# ?. `• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
" Z0 L) O% ]! g9 i* Z, o• Working with evaluation and management information systems team 6 }5 ^5 X4 ^) U8 k4 K- [
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required " M$ `& ]- ?7 L! n7 x
Other Activities:) \) i. b+ `5 B+ _; {% l
• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
6 c! b$ ~. e9 `• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
1 M5 E9 g, m$ A4 e: ?" ~• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting & g* J% U! {4 Z2 t; [% q# ]7 b
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports 4 p2 i& @! p7 P- _+ h' J
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning . C/ Z) p; j& k( f# P- X
Primary Qualifications: 6 ?% [$ d1 \$ j
• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
9 b$ v* z Z. T7 e• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media " w9 a2 F. g( C) Y5 b1 M
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
5 Z% X0 V# R( v$ h( C) u# ?$ ]• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities

) N: ~% J, ^6 D0 U" K• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them ; P1 F& L$ n2 K) S8 a# S6 m
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc - Y* {( ~1 f" D$ D4 G, m5 j- L9 n
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education
- _7 j# V) p' ? \/ _% k3 Q3 r' P& B• Content / curriculum development experience

• Policy research skill set is an asset
