YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties. % G8 r( s% l/ k, C$ o* k7 g7 e, Z
Job Responsibilities:

Payroll:
8 m5 L! L( P( }! D" J. z• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired5 m; t3 x4 ?6 G# H; Y8 S% ^' I
• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll9 D' U. _' v3 f7 s. _8 F4 u
• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
4 P1 I" p& v- e4 f• Input benefit deductions into payroll

0 s& G2 n" ^8 Z' k• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider V- T9 G! W2 T& h
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website
. c& k P3 o, z7 Q) r/ n• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s
z- ^! K9 [' U) \, V' Y• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority
4 T; u. G3 j1 z; s3 M• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations

Compliance:& x; e8 n6 u% U* B1 I/ D6 `- ?' ]
• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
* c. X5 }; r2 F$ e• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
# U: ~. H3 r( l+ n& X; X; b• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies- a- `# t2 R7 `- O$ u' H/ P$ O
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting( `/ F3 W8 u8 u, k( i" e# B( B

Accounts Receivable:1 l5 a& i' M. w2 V
• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit
0 E4 G5 k2 d+ u/ W5 d4 w4 k& N• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department
, N/ C/ J% @; I% S4 X• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments9 d. T* C& u' z' I/ ?( ~
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing1 A/ x( {. J; l6 n. \

• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
9 F. h2 j7 d: Z3 L* n9 ~• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association) f! Q1 C' B, C$ v
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
! T6 P) G9 @! ^8 c3 d5 u! L• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office& u) c" _$ p* O. X
• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work
o- B, Y% D1 z/ e• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure
' J' v6 s& x# `. a& Y F" R• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures
