Key Responsibilities

- provide volunteers to update membership database
1 L. Q+ b$ X5 Q$ t- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers1 _6 C( R' q! e1 m5 K. B& b4 Q. Z! j
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties

- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual

- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities$ D1 o: H8 h: v7 [1 H( R/ D% N
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
+ S4 W3 B, L/ N w/ L- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports. e; K# q9 c2 N
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed9 j& D0 ^7 @ u
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed0 E" U! ?8 E# A9 v8 h/ b# {8 d- g
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)7 h" n' r F5 u- @6 ~
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 7 {2 K5 o8 ?, }6 A
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
7 _2 b" g0 q r0 a! n; \2 X8 Q2 o7 W7 m- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers z E: P+ Z, q/ k ^: ~0 B
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers 8 t2 w" X9 @) E0 [2 j
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

0 w7 v6 O. N/ E( m C0 @1 c s- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education

- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
! p$ s4 y1 m& c0 ?- leadership skills' D) X3 w9 O& o' O
- management and supervision skills) H- L- s. f" b4 \7 u$ u
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills4 M1 X( h1 I' m/ x6 a1 X: ~
