Compensation: $37.00/h in BC, $34.50/h in SK

Responsibilities and Tasks

% H2 j3 S' O) ?' [! J3 L5 a6 G1 D
-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
9 b! H+ i& p8 M0 W-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
-        Select type and size of pipe required
-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
" e- \3 L, j& @/ D) R-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system

4 I2 v! p$ y( l9 R-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment

-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system

-        Completion of secondary school
-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
5 e. ^% M( n  Y- l4 l. B-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
: Y  r1 S# E9 T* z6 u7 F-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
& N% b% w3 \/ i, z# z" E$ s-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset

-        Completion of a four year apprenticeship program
-        A minimum of 5 years’ work experience as an industrial Electrician
! A" p; A- U3 F- v/ E' S8 h-        Trade certification in Saskatchewan or Interprovincial Red Seal
-        Basic English communication skills
-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

-        Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting
-        PLC trouble shooting and programming is an asset
