The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

; [+ g8 i( x0 Y6 G$ sSalary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

" h6 k, Y- U7 o, aDuties include: working closely with graduate students and research
, o) }/ D6 e" U6 [' m2 b( otechnicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.

" N4 |6 A" V- S. l: T- u$ i0 F1 @: e4 T4 MQualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
) \# i) h" |/ ^! e1 K. S3 Yanalytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
, J4 D; C2 E5 W9 QThis position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
8 t6 V- k+ E* }hope to work in these areas.
