The Social Recreation Coordinator is responsible for the CLUB and Mindworks programs. These programs offer recreation activities to adults that encourage and enhance social interactions during the day and one to three evenings a week. Working collaboratively with the Social Recreation Assistant, program participants and volunteers, the Social Recreation Coordinator plans, facilitates and evaluates recreational programming along with supporting a variety of participant led and driven initiatives. - Y3 ]7 m! QUALIFICATIONS
- X& c) J+ D% J4 {: o- { The Social Recreation Coordinator enjoys challenges, is organized and adaptable. The successful candidate has an understanding of the value and importance that social recreation has in the lives of adults living with mental illness. While working as part of a vibrant multidisciplinary team, the Social Recreation Coordinator is able to work independently and has:9 l: e- d; h. @5 U: `2 K8 m
• A relevant diploma and /or equivalent combination of education and experience
5 |$ ^! @+ ^/ I7 x$ P+ c! h• Minimum 2 years experience working with adults with mental illness
: S+ q2 v( t3 ^1 m3 G p9 {• Demonstrated knowledge of mental health, mental illness and recreational resources in Edmonton4 H9 G1 O0 ~7 f. I; \$ q
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Knowledge and experience in recreation program planning and facilitation
