T H( ~Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Albert Employment and Immigration, the Immigrant Service Worker will provide front line services to clients for their inquiry in a polite and professional manner.5 V0 R- ^0 W. Key Responsibilities. y8 q) w8 D6 ]9 N( a2 Y3 y1 Q
• Respond to inquiries by telephone or in person with respect to matters relating to immigration, social services, employment insurance benefits, Alberta Health Care, Alberta Seniors Benefit, OAS, CPP, Citizenship and passports, etc.( E7 j, H5 m% g% S! y. |: w# @
• Book appointments and assist clients in completing various application forms. D& ~8 {2 V) t4 ^. J
• Recommend and register clients in workshops, seminars, classes, and activities
8 b$ s( l, l0 h% P% B; f# J• Helping Immigrants with Language Barriers to interpret and explain English letters, pamphlets, notices in Cantonese or Mandarin as requested by the client8 u8 R! @) N3 s, o! Z- m
• Refer newcomers/new immigrants to Settlement Counselor$ e) o6 ? L+ ~* D/ R: o# _% q
• Gather ISP files quarterly to ISP Coordinator! H I1 q; ~0 h# g* Z5 w
• Train and supervise volunteers at front counter or reception

• Order and maintain sufficient government forms for Centre’s daily use; u% W! Y( d6 a/ ^; }2 r5 L
• Explain membership benefit and register the client0 V5 w* n9 T4 f. ~
• Check phone messages at interval

Qualifications:# {% q& s7 F$ R" I% B$ ^7 a
- High school diploma or above, two years or more related work experience
* u! `& y, _4 V* a$ Z& G6 M- Exceptional customer service skills2 ^' M1 L! `1 O0 W' `
- Ability to multi-task
/ x5 a; ]$ V" S8 P* y" [% r- Works well under pressure
$ {: d2 R4 C2 b W- Ability to work well independently as well as in a team, Z6 v, u. q9 _$ w
- Good oral and written English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) and willing to learn one of the Chinese dialects if only proficient in one
