: }- \0 C' h& Y0 wARC's Fuels and Lubricants group delivers a full range of services for refined petroleum products as well as performing petroleum analyses to Canadian (CGSB), American (ASTM, API and SAE), and international (ISO) specifications. Customers include industry, government agencies, regulatory agencies, automobile manufacturers and the general public. The group also provides consultation and problem solving support on a range of issues, from specific problems to comprehensive systems.

! w2 X! m( M$ L2 R0 t6 ~5 \# N& C( fThe position of Compliance Officer combines the responsibilities of Quality Assurance Manager and Safety Officer for the approximately twenty five staff members in the petroleum analysis laboratories of the Fuels & Lubricants Group. + H) B/ d2 G1 G1 _( a, ?
" {/ W0 ]5 F0 p0 |% }" tThe Quality Assurance Manager duties require you to supervise and coordinate all QA activities to ensure compliance with accepted ISO 17025, ASTM, and business performance standards. The Safety Officer duties require you to collaborate and consult with ARC Safety Health & Environment to ensure compliance of the laboratory operations to corporate and industrial safety standards. You will also assist the Business Unit Manager to promote the value of the unit internally and externally with potential customers and to develop and secure new business opportunities within the Fuels & Lubricants market.

You will have a Bachelors’ Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (Technical Diploma and equivalent experience may be accepted) with a minimum of five years’ experience in the petroleum industry. You will have a proven track record of Quality Assurance/ISO accreditation experience, familiarity with laboratory safety requirements and processes, experience with petroleum and ASTM test methods, and experience with internal audit procedures. You possess strong communication skills, have the ability to work in a team environment, and are results oriented with a record of business achievement. Knowledge of industrial processes and statistical process control would be a definite asset.
