A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.. T0 ? v1 [ a+ z! `' B
The program includes the following elements:
# N3 q' ]! D0 n• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
7 V3 k2 f( {+ @* V( W) \• Standard Child Care First Aid. V+ o/ D w6 B3 x: h7 n$ J8 ~
• WHMIS
& c4 P; ]% W) }$ L• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
' n# K3 M: N2 V• Components to improve communication skills
2 ~; g0 Q( u/ w• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search0 c) Q/ |# d# r
• Practicum Placements
/ p" n; x* s0 }# Q3 X7 oEligibility Criteria" E {. _6 n4 Q& d
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen/ s, U' r! e$ H* f! O, J! r8 t
of Canada: c; d, Q3 t% b! {% P) d! w
• have a Social Insurance Number( k3 |" _5 n1 {5 {1 V U: g
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
# k9 g/ d7 |6 q; w" E8 O/ ] I6 c• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
6 i& W- `+ H& W* M7 S. T• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time1 i& B, n4 J5 @5 d8 T
program
, a6 Q; J% a. n! d( x& oParticipants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet( _$ Z3 i4 ]# l+ J1 A
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:" V' H9 C; U, X1 V; b
• be unemployed or underemployed.# W5 n8 {; ]8 N* t- U( I
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course
& n0 [$ t- x+ H• meet the financial eligibility criteria( a+ i2 K& f, c: ^3 `
