  ^: l/ i/ ^# X& O) A3 xHoused within the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, this position provides ongoing project management for implementation of the City Council approved Racism Free Edmonton (RFE) Action Plan.  The position provides strategic coordination for a multi-stakeholder governance structure that provides oversight to the implementation of the specific actions outlined in the RFE Action Plan, including the work of a CEO Committee, a Mid-Management Committee and six working groups that research and recommend actions in six sectors:  employment; education; policing and justice; housing; media; and youth.  It requires liaison work with members of City Council, senior City administration, senior administrators within the various sectors and orders of government and key institutional and organizational stakeholders in the community.

* T# Q, o# J8 d; M6 _# w•        Provide strategic coordination for the Racism Free Edmonton Initiative.
% Q0 `4 p. ?- j  `; ^* S, C•        Support and influence RFE stakeholder groups in the development and implementation of actions identified in the Racism Free Edmonton Action Plan.
3 x5 ]7 X8 _" V- L2 m$ C, o9 o- ^•        Provide expert knowledge and consultation to RFE Stakeholders and City administration as a primary City resource on racism and racial discrimination.% Z7 B, U0 t/ e8 J8 j2 W0 v0 u
•        Engender and build support among diverse community stakeholders to ensure the timely accomplishment of goals as well as strong communication among stakeholders, communities of interest and the general public.

•        Provide support in the implementation of Council's Multicultural Initiative.

Job Requirements:

4 A  R4 h2 p/ k7 F' [: m•        Undergraduate degree required in Recreation Administration, Commerce, Business Administration or equivalent recognized degree in Social Sciences, or Human Services or related discipline.  Graduate degree would be an asset, with a focus of study including diversity and racism." v( Z9 X. Z( f- \7 T' [
•        Minimum of seven (7) years professional experience in project/program management or organizational leadership role including responsibilities related to diversity/inclusion.
+ u9 E8 W7 @7 w( x. {% ?•        Understanding of racism and discrimination and related concepts and issues.+ L$ r* r4 d$ X+ g; ~0 M( \3 o
•        Project and contract management skills.

$ _  f1 w1 ]- ]# e( }•        Knowledge of and ability to effectively analyze public policy, particularly human rights and labour equity legislation, criminal code as it relates to hate crime and other policies related to racial discrimination at all government levels.

! {9 k' b( _/ X7 R+ G•        Understanding of and ability to apply City of Edmonton Diversity and Inclusion policies, frameworks and implementation plans.

•        Computer skills in the area of electronic information management and communication.

& V& C3 L3 G) X, }" Y+ E+ A# LNote:  A suitable security clearance is a condition of employment. The successful candidate will be required to obtain a Security Clearance letter with satisfactory results from the Edmonton Police Department.

3 S! U) ^% I" W# k" [3 IHOURS OF WORK:  33.75 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of a variable hours of work program.

SALARY RANGE:  21M, Salary Grade: 029, $32.88 - $41.324 (Hourly), $2,219.47 - $2,789.37 (Bi-Weekly), $57,928.10 - $72,802.56 (Annually).  This union contract is currently under negotiation.) Y# U8 U& i" B9 A6 O; L
