Position: Community Safety Coordinator / Location: CN Tower, 14th Flr., 10004-104 Ave. / Hours: 33.75 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Some evening/weekend work may be required / Salary Range: $34.361 - $43.184 (Hourly), $2,319.37 - $2,914.92 (Bi-Weekly). NOTE: This is for one, Temporary, Full time position for up to 11 months. : t d+ x4 J! n# [+ i: rResponsibilities include: Coordinate and manage diverse municipal community safety and community building initiatives, including those around youth and addictions, prevention of violence, sexual exploitation and other innovative projects related to the REACH report on community safety endorsed by City Council in September 2009; Facilitate/provide support to the Transitional Board working to create and launch a new Community Safety Coordinating Council in 2010; Support a variety of working group teams and project committees in areas including organizational development, governance and orientation, strategic planning, funding proposals, reporting and liaison with other community coalitions and initiatives." y0 y1 N+ y0 c! ~4 Y# _

PLUS: Plan/arrange logistics for meetings & documenting outcomes, facilitate strategic planning and evaluation of outcomes/impact assessment; monitor developments and conduct research related to focus areas such as crime prevention through social development, crime prevention through environmental design, asset building and youth, addictions and community capacity building and liaise with the National Network of Municipalities on Crime Prevention.

, u- Q& H& _$ [; g# V' AKey Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Arts, Public/Recreation Administration, Education or equivalent recognized degree; a minimum of seven (7) years professional experience which includes a demonstrated competency in organizational/community development, project management, public consultation processes, communications/strategic planning; a demonstrated ability to work independently in both thought and action, in research and evaluation of impact, community engagement/communication, collaboration, organization development, project management, contract management, and issue identification; extensive knowledge in the above areas, including familiarity with urban issues; Excellent oral and written communication skills; knowledge of new social marketing technologies. |
