Specific Responsibilities: This role will conduct route scouting, reaction screening, and optimize chemical reactions, isolations, separations, purifications and crystallizations, as well as perform scale-up activities to demonstrate process optimization and synthetic routes for the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients. Working with minimal supervision the Associate Scientist will work on several projects performing a variety of laboratory investigations; selecting appropriate methods and techniques in performing experiments, analyzing data, and preparing related reports.

: e; {" s$ D' C% p. p- P) e' k% v* U# `The ideal candidate will possess an MS degree in Chemistry along with a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience. The selected individual must demonstrate and apply an advanced level of understanding of organic synthesis and be able to plan and execute assigned experiments that support non-routine research activities and project goals independently. We also require the ability to perform research activities independently while working in a team setting, being well versed in literature searching and can utilize the print and electronic literature efficiently to address project issues, someone who is trained and knowledgeable on cGMP requirements, and is highly proactive and self-motivated, with good interpersonal, organizational and planning skills.

• Recommends alternatives, researches new methods and techniques and may proactively seek out senior personnel to discuss potential solutions to problems.

• Provides technical support during process implementation in the manufacturing sites.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills: Typically requires a BS degree in discipline related to the specific nature of research being conducted, and minimum 7 years of relevant experience or a MS degree and minimum 5 years of relevant experience.Strong communication skills (both verbal and technical) and interpersonal skills are required. Must be able to participate in highly effective teams. Demonstrates ability to recognize anomalous and inconsistent results and interpret experimental outcomes. Develops skills in data analysis and ability to evaluate quality of data. Must think critically and creatively and be able to work independently, determine appropriate resources for resolution of problems and have strong organizational and planning skills. |
