Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
& }; [! o: J/ Fexecution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include: , I; ^: L4 o( F
; [7 h% V, ]+ K• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of & E% z* j: \) s1 v
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
h) J7 V9 X* U" `the Board of Directors;
, K: ]! F) h7 d* j2 d( S• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations

enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;

objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 9 m5 R! `- X9 x/ `; h6 L; K" D

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
; n8 W& z9 z E F# F• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion % V" J; Y+ Y% Z* L1 e
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
) [) C6 M$ X7 s! B) O$ J! o1 q• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the # L1 d) R0 i: a |) w
changing needs of the organization and community;
0 p8 p4 Z' a3 {0 B/ W4 i4 D• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
0 _, k: L+ ~) x J% p• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
% f/ c' U. X1 e) q4 A* Dthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
7 s; p; u, v. Q6 j! n• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal + H- |; N$ ~; g
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
9 k" S6 @( b1 Z$ N0 P2 K; p/ A& {the forthcoming year; 7 V# I' K, F1 h0 M/ ?2 o
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
7 O0 H0 q% b6 ]5 a1 d* Jpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ' a% \! g5 P, Z0 O6 A5 F
YWCA Canada; and

Required Professional Designation / Certification : T0 V0 h% a, }( n
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 5 A! T8 G" V/ \8 F# k

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ! a+ q# K7 d- m: T
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
/ A$ [0 p6 F. `9 Y2 A- uabilities;
2 {% B Z8 b% @* S. w3 [! S• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
2 c" Y( _& Q) m6 n! rNetworking and Fundraising;
