) i4 U# m o3 `1 U; pThe Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped by hundreds of points this afternoon, in response to violent riots in Athens over Greece's debt crisis.2 Z$ l9 t- w1 z. P& B

By 2:45 p.m., the Dow had dropped by more than 990 points, before bouncing back to at least a 400-point dip only minutes later.

g$ z- z, O0 x* \. DAccording to the Associated Press, 30,000 protestors were in the streets of Athens, and police threw tear gas near crowds gathered in front of the Greek parliament. The AP has not yet reported arrests or injuries.

. X0 P8 ]" O( b3 g7 KGreek lawmakers approved drastic cuts today, which were needed to secure international rescue loans worth 110 billion euros, which would come from the International Monetary Fund and 15 other European governments.
