Hrs of work may be subject to the terms & conditions of a variable hour of work program / Salary Range: 21M, Salary Grade: 025, $32.811 - $41.195 (Hourly), $2,214.74 - $2,780.66 (Bi-Weekly), $57,804.780 - $75,575.290 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton / Location: CN Tower, 10004-104 Avenue / Closing Date: 11:00 p.m. 06.03.10.

The Child Friendly Edmonton Initiative works with all City Departments as well as external partners to promote advocacy/awareness, improve accessibility to programs & services, and ensure that quality experiences for children, in safe environments are provided to enrich their skills, gain knowledge and build their capacity. 3 b/ _3 D7 ^5 ^The Child Friendly Edmonton Coordinator will: facilitate/manage the ongoing development & implementation of the City of Edmonton's Child Friendly Edmonton Strategy; effectively lead, facilitate, manage, guide, and engage an inter-departmental committee as it advises the work of the Child Friendly Edmonton Initiative; provide expertise and leadership to the Corporation and community as a primary City resource on child and youth friendly practices, policies and principles; provide connections among Departments, Civic Agencies, Partners and coordinate the collaborative efforts to implementing the Child Friendly Edmonton goals/objectives.

PLUS: project manage all work within the context of the Child Friendly Edmonton Initiative; Manage, provide content to, and update the child and youth website: yedmonton.ca; plan/manage events related to Child Friendly Edmonton; write council reports, presentations and speaking notes; project manage intensive research reports; maintain records and other administrative functions; other activities as determined.

Qualifications: University graduation in Recreation Administration, Social Work, Social Sciences or related undergraduate degree & a minimum of (5) years experience in a related field which includes demonstrated competency in program development, organization development/provision of information/referral; experience in policy and strategy development; global understanding of challenges/success faced by children/youth locally, provincially, nationally & internationally; training & demonstrated experience in project management & ability to facilitate, lead/motivate project teams through to completion; strong verbal/written communication skills with the ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships with partners, stakeholders, public, government officials and management.

: o: Z6 K8 i! \9 M3 \( B- ]# n; EPLUS: demonstrated expertise in creating, managing and leading cross-sectoral teams; general understanding of research/analysis; proven experience in social marketing, promotions and advertising; strong organizational, problem solving/consensus building skills; ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships in a multi-disciplinary team environment; experience in writing for the web; ability to work independently and multitask under time constraints and competing priorities; strong attention to detail; ability to plan/manage events; general proficiency with MS Office.!
